Thank you so much for sticking with us and supporting us monthly . The last 2 months were the craziest I ever experienced – with big amounts of vet costs and double the intake of last year.
Adoptions
But I want to share with you here the good news!! After a slow adoption month of May we could push through and started having more adoptions.
We had in May around 65 kittens and mamacats in our care . We could now bring it down to 45 !!
It take a big effort as we ask for an adoption fee and mostly Portuguese are not used to that . And for some of them its a big amount.
But the adoption fee is a way to show that these kittens have a worth – and it helps with our costs – which raise yearly – with higher intakes and with all the sicknesses kittens come to us with.
Mamacats
Something very dear to my heart ( Elisabeth) are the mamacats. They are normally very young females who gave birth to their babies under very difficult circumstances. Hardly no food , chasing dogs , poison and car accidents are very common for mamacats .
They loose all their weight to feed the kittens , they travel far to find food and need to habe the babies always safe and protected against predators like dogs and male cats.
Then when they are brought to us – they can recover BUT no one ever is interested in them, as they kittens steal the show !
Most of our mamacats are big lovers and are max 1,5 years old . They are sterelized by us and microchipped- and are very grateful and are very easy cats to handle .
Please consider adopting a mamacat with one kitten ! Then you have the best of both worlds – cuteness and peace 😍
Incubators
We received last months 2 amazing donations: 2 of our supporters donated each a small incubator- which have been already life savers for our neonatals. And some sick kittens profit from them too. We are blessed with wonderful people around us 🤗🙏🏾
